Abstract

The training focus to the intellectual disabled people has not been studied enough, even though that professionals need to know more about this topic. The main aim of this work is to know better how swimmers with and without Asperger Syndrome perceive the effort, fatigue, and the degree of the technical difficulty. To reach this goal, a free style test of 8x100 meters and the Borg scale was used (to study the perceptions of the effort and the fatigue), as well as a question about the degree of the technical difficulty. No differences were found with respect to the perception of the effort and the fatigue but Asperger swimmers show more trouble to assess the degree of the technical difficulty, even when all the exercises have the same difficulty. So, it seems hard to find an objective value to determine the degree of correlation of its answers with the actual difficulty.
