Abstract

Aim: to perform a critically review of the literature about  the validity and reliability of the navicular drop test as a clinical tool to evaluate the foot pronation.

Method: Bibliographic review on the “navicular drop test”; A total of 69 articles were reviewed, 31 papers were excluded.

Results: a total of 38 articles were finally selected in Spanish and English idiom, with the topic of the validity and reliability of  the navicular drop test.

Conclusions: The navicular drop test is a widely used tool used in several scientific researches. It is recommended in the evaluation of the foot  pronation due to its simplicity use,  but considering is a  doutful tool  reliability and validity according to the literature.
