Physical Training Methodology in Pulmonary Rehabilitation Patients at the Sociedad de Cirugía de Bogotá– Hospital de San José: A Systematic Review
Abstract
Introduction: Respiratory diseases have undergone significant changes, with young people presenting with diseases that are representative of adults. This is due to air pollution, environmental factors, and family factors. These conditions have contributed to the increase in difficult-to-manage chronic diseases, increasing the challenges for the hospital system. Respiratory diseases represent a major cause of morbidity and mortality globally. Given this situation, there is a need to strengthen hospital interventions, especially those based on pulmonary rehabilitation, where physical exercise is an essential component in the management of patients with chronic respiratory diseases. Methodology: The design of this research corresponds to a systematic review following the PRISMA guidelines, with a qualitative approach. Results: The results obtained in this research support the need to implement exercise programs aimed at improving respiratory function, as well as optimizing aerobic capacity, muscle strength, and coordination.
