Abstract

Introduction: Barefoot (BF) footwear has gained popularity in recent years, but few studies analyze its effect on dynamic balance. Objective: To determine the effect of using barefoot footwear or running barefoot on dynamic balance in adults. Materials and Methods: A search was conducted in eight databases following the PRISMA guidelines. Risk of bias was assessed using Cochrane Collaboration guidelines, and methodological quality was evaluated with the PEDro scale. Results: Five RCTs were included, and the findings were contradictory. Conclusion: BF lacks evidence supporting its positive effect on dynamic balance.
